Born in the year 1957. Generation wise belong to Village Doyalchak, Raghunathbari at Panskura. Presently having permanent residence at Rangibasan, Mahishadal, Purba Medinipur, West Bengal, PIN-721628 for over 50 years. Nurtured at the Mahishadal Raj High School till I passed the HS examination (11th class at that time) in 1973 with National Scholarship. My school life was enriched by a diversity due to migration to the famous Nandigram BMT High School during my studies in class-VI for a period of one year. All along my parents were my best teachers and philosophers who taught me the values and ethics of being born as a human being.

After completing the higher secondary studies, I went to Narendrapur Ram Krishna Mission college with Physics Honors for one year where I groomed myself further by the philosophy of Lord Ramakrishna Paramahansa Dev and Swami Vivekananda.

In the year 1974, I qualified for admission to the Pre-medical course at the R G Kar Medical College, Calcutta, through the Joint Entrance Examination - Medical and Engineering in West Bengal. After covering the Premedical course we entered the prestigious MBBS course under University of Calcutta in the year 1975 and passed out in 1981. We were the brightly sparkling Medicos-75 batch from R G KAR MEDICAL COLLEGE & HOSPITAL. Had the privilege of doing my House-physician-ship in the department of Pediatrics under Professor Dr Shanti Indra in my mother institution.

Thereafter I devoted myself in the practice of Pediatric Medicine since 1984 in Mahishadal. Got married to Piyali in 1985 and gifted with two daughters Pamela and Poulomi in 1986 and 1993. Because of my utmost dedication to the the noble profession, many a times I had to sacrifice the pleasure of going on a long drive with my better-half, I had to miss the pleasure of seeing the first smile of my daughters, I had to avoid the responsibility of escorting them to their schools. But undoubtedly I love them the most.

In the year 2010 I was encouraged by my senior colleagues Dr. Arup Roy and Dr. Kalyan Maity to become the associate member of Indian Academy of Pediatrics. Later in 2013 I came in contact with Dr. Anjan Bhattacharyya, the renowned Developmental Pediatrician in the Child Development Center, Apollo Glen-eagles Hospital, Kolkata, with hearty reference from my well wisher elder brother Dr Arup Roy. That was another important turning point in my life. I was inspired to pursue post graduate qualification by my ever smiling most tolerant life partner Piyali(Soma). Under the apt mentor-ship and community oriented practical art of teaching by Dr. Anjan Bhattacharyya at the Apollo Glen-eagles Hospital, Kolkata, I achieved the post-graduate qualifications: DCH/IPPC (Sydney University) in 2014 & DCH(U.K) from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (UK) in 2018, MRCPCH (UK).

Most humbly, I am displaying herewith some of my certificates to impress my next generation with the idea that 'No age is too late to pursue one's academic excellence'.
